Piano Tuning & Repair

A & A Music Academy was founded in August of 1982 by Anita.  The purpose was to bring quality private music instruction to the surrounding area as well as provide expert musical services for the budding musician.  Anita enlisted the aid of Don Komorski as her source for expert Jazz instruction as well as piano tuning and repair.  The school has grown from 40 students per week to over 300.  Contact us today to join our growing family.

Known professionally as Don Komar, Don has performed all around the Chicago area for the past 60 years.  His talents as a jazz musician are widely known and admired.  He accepts students at the advanced level on piano, organ, keyboard, and accordion. He teaches students the basics of jazz and improvisation using methods from several area universities along with some of his own styling tips.  Students can look forward to fun and challenging lessons as they learn ear skills, and improvisation techinques.  He also is available for 4 week Jazz master classes for area music educators.  We encourage the music teacher to improve their skills and regain new enthusiasm for teaching jazz to their students.

Don, treasurer of the Master Piano Technicians of America, also provides expert piano tuning and reconditioning to our students and other customers around the area.  He has been an expert Master Piano Technician for over 23 years.  You can count on him to maintain your instrument so you can enjoy it for years to come.

As adminstrator of the academy, Anita still finds time to teach beginners and intermediate students on piano, organ and keyboards.  She specializes in the beginner student and always enjoys getting a student off on the right foot!  Using varius proven methods, she instills basic music skills with confidence.  Students can look forward to learning music they know, and can enjoy playing right from the beginning.  Anita has been working with students since 1978 and still enjoys the thrill of a beginner when they play their first song!

She also handles the day to day busines of running the academy.  You will generally talk to her when you sign up for lessons, or if you have any questions or problems.  She assigns students to the various faculty members according to openings on each teachers schedule and tries to match the students schedule with the teacher.  Anita handles all aspects of the business with great attention to detail and feels the students' education is of the highest priority.  Feel free to contact her with any and all questions regarding the academy.
