Piano Tuning & Repair
A & A Music Academy provides access to expert piano tuning and repair through one of its founders, Don Komorski. Don has been tuning and repairing pianos for over 28 years and is a member and national treasurer of the Masters Piano Technicians of America. He tunes pianos for several area churches, schools, nursing homes, and of course, our own students. Don received his Doctorate in Piano Technology from the Master Piano Technicians of America Institute in 2008 and tunes and repairs over 700 pianos per year. He is the founder of the local Chicago Chapter of MPT which meets regularly and works on various projects with other members to advance their skills and knowledge.
Don's client base encompasses a large area of the Northwest suburbs and many of his clients have been with him for over 25 years. He maintains a record of each piano tuned, and maintains each piano on a 6 month or annual schedule.
Don will also refer tuning and repair customers to our other resident tuner, Craig Elliott. Craig is a registered technician and member of the Piano Technicians' guild, and has been tuning for several years as well. Both of our expert piano technicians can help make your instrument sound great and will be able to handle any repairs needed.
The piano services we offer require our technician to see your specific piano in order to quote a price for the repair. Tunings are set at a standard price, but can fluctuate from time to time.
