Piano Tuning FAQs

You might not always notice when your piano needs tuning, but it’s essential for maintaining its sound and feel. Pianos can easily go out of tune due to changes in humidity and regular use. In winter, closed windows and heating systems dry out the environment, while summer can cause swelling in the wooden components. With piano strings and the cast iron plate under 20,000 pounds of pressure, keeping them in tune is crucial to maintaining stability and performance.
Regular tuning not only preserves this pressure but also enhances your playing experience, making your piano sound amazing. Don’t wait until it’s too late—ensure your piano is always at its best!

A & A Music & Art Academy recommends tuning your piano two times per year to keep is sounding it’s best. Minimum is once per year to maintain the piano stability.
